Mister Melody has been creating singular portraits on audio cassettes since 2021. Each original work carries what he calls his "pictorial melody"—a visual vibration that transforms the obsolete into tangible memory.

His name pays tribute to Serge Gainsbourg, whose music profoundly shaped his conception of art: that resonance persisting after the final chord, that memory continuing to vibrate in silence, that emotion engraved beyond sound.

He defines himself as a "portrait scribbler." Behind this self-deprecation surfaces a creative urgency: to capture the intensity of an existence, the force of a face, the density of an instant. His gesture is instinctive, crafted through stencils, nourished by textures and colors that express what language cannot convey.

Each recovered cassette already carries a story. Mister Melody extends it, makes it visible, offers it a second resonance. These relics from another time become the ground for an encounter between musical memory and visual presence.

His artistic influences span Banksy for gestural audacity, Warhol for the power of contrast, Jef Aérosol for precision of line. But what he pursues transcends reference: an immediately recognizable signature, carried as much by form as by depth.

The cassette is never merely a medium. It embodies sound, human trace, the collective memory of an era when music could be touched. By repurposing it, the artist makes this memory resonate differently. Each portrait becomes a fragment of identity, a visual vibration, an almost palpable presence.

Exhibited at Hellfest's Off festival and Roubaix's Nuit des Arts, Mister Melody nourishes his approach through contact with contemporary art collectors, music enthusiasts, and lovers of singular creation. Each encounter refines his vision, each exchange enriches his visual language.

All his creations are unique pieces, signed and accompanied by their certificate of authenticity. Available for acquisition, they can also be commissioned as custom works for collectors seeking a bespoke creation—an exclusive art object, personal and profoundly musical.

Mister Melody seeks neither to impress nor to theorize. What he places on each cassette must be evident, sincere, deeply human.

Each work is a small melody one can touch.

This die-hard music fan finds his inspiration in musical art.

Mister Melody recreates the artists he admires in a colorful, vibrant world, somewhere between realism and illustration. His artist name is actually inspired by Serge Gainsbourg's song, "Histoire de Melody Nelson."

"I'm a fan of Gainsbourg and his alter ego Gainsbarre. He always had a soft spot for poetry and painting. His art, which he described as minor, remains major in my eyes," the artist believes.
